As you all know, all Bambu Lab 3D printers can be accessed remotely through the Bambu Labs Cloud using Studio slicer or the smartphone app. However, for this to work smoothly, the printer must be connected to the internet and have a stable connection to the manufacturer's cloud.

Network Setup

Before you try connecting your printer to everything else, make sure you've got this step down. You should ensure that your network has both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies selected. Chances are, your laptop or computer will connect to the 5 GHz network, while the Bambu printer needs the 2.4 GHz network. To keep it simple, use the same SSID (network name) for both frequencies.

When you go through the setup process on the Bambu printer, select this network name and input the same password. It's crucial to be on the 2.4 GHz network during this process; otherwise, you might run into issues connecting to other devices like your studio or smartphone app.

Failed to Connect Printer

Have you ever experienced difficulty in establishing a working connection to your printer, leaving you unsure whether the issue lies with your network or the manufacturer's cloud service? There's a straightforward method to diagnose the source of the problem. You can test whether the issue originates from your internal network, router, internet service, or the manufacturer's cloud by following these steps:

If you have an X1 or X1 Carbon, follow these steps to check the printer's connection:

1. Navigate to the fourth tab, then select "Network."

2. Check if the printer's Wi-Fi is turned on and connected to your network. If it's recognized by your router, you should see an IP address displayed. This indicates that the printer is connected to your internal network.

3. Click on "Test Network." The printer will then test the connection to the router and the internet.

On P1P printer, there is not "Test Network" button, while you can still verify if the printer is connected to your internal network by checking if there's an IP address.

If you followed all these steps and still can't connect to the Bambu Lab Cloud, it's likely that the Cloud is undergoing maintenance or experiencing downtime. In that case, it's advisable to wait for a while before attempting to test the connection again. However, even if the cloud is down, you still have options to start a print on the printer. You can either run it using the LAN Only Mode or use a memory card to transfer the files from the computer to the printer.

LAN Only Mode

In LAN Only Mode, you restrict connectivity to your local area network (LAN) only. To access it, navigate to the network settings, typically found under a gear icon. Once activated, you'll be provided with an access code and an IP address to log into your devices.

Enabling LAN Only Mode disconnects you from Bambu Studio and Bambu Handy apps. To regain access, you'll need to log back in with the provided access code and IP address.

This mode prevents data from being sent through the cloud, enhancing security by keeping your network isolated. However, it means losing access to features like the camera monitoring function. If you need to use the camera, you'll have to switch off LAN Only Mode and log back into the regular wireless network.

The decision to use LAN Only Mode depends on your preference for cloud-based functionality versus local network security.
