Safety Warning
⚠️ IMPORTANT!

It's crucial to power off the printer before conducting any maintenance work, including work on the printer's electronics and tool head wires. Performing tasks with the printer on can result in a short circuit, leading to electronic damage and safety hazards.

During maintenance or troubleshooting, you may need to disassemble parts, including the hotend. This exposes wires and electrical components that could short circuit if they contact each other, other metal, or electronic components while the printer is still on. This can result in damage to the printer's electronics and additional issues.

Therefore, it's crucial to turn off the printer and disconnect it from the power source before conducting any maintenance. This prevents short circuits or damage to the printer's electronics, ensuring safe and effective maintenance.

Remove the Eddy Sensor

Step 1. Remove the Cooling Fan for Hotend

Follow this wiki to remove the cooling fan for hotend: Replacing the cooling fan for hotend for the A2L.

Step 2. Remove the Eddy Sensor

Hold the base of the connector by hand, lift vertically away from the PCB surface to unlock and disconnect the Eddy sensor connector. On initial disassembly, glue may secure the plug to prevent loosening; you can use tweezers or similar tools to assist in lifting the plug.

Use an H1.5 hex screwdriver to unscrew the two screws shown and remove the Eddy sensor.

The cooling fan for hotend, part cooling fan, and eddy sensor plug on the TH board uses a small connector design. When unplugging, hold the plug base with your hand and lift vertically away from the PCB to unlock the plug. Do not apply force horizontally to avoid damaging the plug.

Install the New Eddy Sensor

Step 1. Install the Eddy Sensor

Align the eddy sensor with the locating pin on the toolhead bracket, use an H1.5 screwdriver to tighten the two screws, and secure the coil cables along the cable channel.

Step 2. Install the Cooling Fan for Hotend

Verifying Success

✅ Turn on the printer and perform homing. If no HMS errors occur, the replacement is sucessful.

Calibrate the 3D Printer after this operation. Additionally, it is strongly recommended to clean the Textured PEI Plate before printing, as the build plate may be contaminated during the replacement of the cooling fan for hotend and Eddy Current Coil.
