    Required Tools and Materials

New hotend cooling fan for hotend

    H1.5 Allen key

Remove the Cooling Fan for Hotend

Step 1: Remove the Toolhead Housing

Please refer to the wiki page on Replacing the Toolhead Housing to remove the front and rear covers of the toolhead.

Note: The disassembly and assembly of the hotend heating assembly will not be affected by removing the toolhead middle frame.

Step 2: Remove the Silicone Sock for Hotend and Hotend

Please refer to the wiki page on Replacing the Hotend and Silicone Sock to remove the hotend silicone sock and the hotend.

Step 3: Remove the Cooling Fan for Hotend

Remove the foam and tape from the TH board, then disconnect the hotend heating assembly and cooling fan for hotend, making sure to release the cables from the bottom cable clip. When disconnecting the hotend fan cable, pull it straight out, perpendicular to the connector. Do not use excessive force or wiggle it side to side, as this may cause damage.

Use an H1.5 Allen key to remove one of the fan's mounting screws (BT2x5). Then, slide the fan downward to loosen it from its mounting slot and remove the hotend fan.

Step 4: Remove the Air Duct

Use an H1.5 Allen key to remove the two air duct fixing screws (BT2x5) and then remove the air duct.

Step 5: Remove the Hotend Heating Assembly

Use an H2.0 Allen key to remove the three M2.5×5 screws securing the hotend heating assembly. Then, release its cable from the cable clip and remove the assembly.

Install the Hotend Heating Assembly/ Cooling Fan for Hotend

Step 1: Install the Hotend Heating Assembly

Route the hotend heating assembly cable through the side of the heating base and install the assembly onto the toolhead (make sure the cable is not pinched under the heating base). Use an H2.0 Allen key to tighten the three M2.5×5 set screws. Then, route the cable through the screw post on the air duct and secure it in the cable clip.

Connect the hotend heating assembly cable to the TH board and reattach the tape.

Step 2: Install the Air Duct

Install the air duct next to the heating base and tighten the two fixing screws (BT2x5) using an H1.5 Allen key.

Step 3: Install the Cooling Fan for Hotend

Route the hotend fan cable into the cable duct at the bottom of the toolhead. Align the hotend fan mounting slot with the groove on the toolhead, then slide it upward into place.

Tighten the single BT2×5 screw using an H1.5 Allen key. Arrange the cables neatly, then insert the connector into the TH board perpendicular to its surface. Finally, reattach the foam and tape.

Step 4: Install the silicone sock for hotend and hotend

For detailed instructions, refer to the wiki page on Replacing the Hotend and Silicone Sock to install the silicone sock for hotend and hotend.

    ### Step 5: Install the Toolhead Housing

Please refer to the instructions for Replacing the Toolhead Housing and install the toolhead housing.

    Verifying Functionality

Connect the power supply, turn on the printer, and heat the hotend to 100°C. Verify that the temperature rises normally and that the cooling fan for hotend starts as expected.

If any issues occur, retrace your steps and check all connections before retrying. If the problem persists, contact Bambu Lab technical support team for assistance.
