Eddy Sensor
The eddy sensor is installed between the extruder and the hotend on the P2S. It's a component used for actively calibrating filament flow.
When to Use This Guide
- The eddy sensor is damaged or not working
Required Tools and Materials
- New eddy sensor
- H1.5 Allen key
Removing the Eddy Sensor
Step 1: Remove the Toolhead Front Cover
Refer to Toolhead Housing Replacement Guide for the P2S | Bambu Lab Wiki to remove the toolhead front cover.

Step 2: Remove the Hotend
Refer to Replace P2S Hotend and Silicone Sock to remove the silicone sock for hotend and then the hotend.

Step 3: Remove the Hotend Cooling Fan Air Duct
Remove two hotend fan duct screws with an H1.5 Allen key and remove the air duct from the toolhead.

Step 4: Release the Cable
Peel off the foam and tape attached to the TH board, then disconnect the hotend fan cable and the hotend heating assembly cable from the TH board in sequence.
When disconnecting the eddy sensor cable, lift it straight up from the connector—do not apply force sideways or wiggle it, as this may damage the connector.
Remove the hotend fan cable and the hotend heating assembly cable from the cable clips in sequence.
Step 5: Remove the Eddy sensor
Use an H1.5 Allen key to remove the two screws securing the eddy sensor, then take out the coil.

Installing the New Eddy sensor
Step 1: Install the Eddy sensor
With the screw holes facing downward, install the eddy sensor above the hotend heating assembly and tighten the two screws with an H1.5 Allen key.
Step 2: Connect the Cable
First, clip the eddy sensor cable into the wire clip shown in the figure below.
Route the hotend heating cable above the screw column as shown. Ensure it is completely above the column and away from the screwing surface so it is not pinched during the installation of the hotend fan air duct.
Route the hotend heating assembly cable and the eddy sensor cable into the wire clips.
Reconnect the hotend heating assembly cable to the TH board. Align the eddy sensor connector with the port on the TH board and press it fully in.
Reapply the tape and foam.
Step 3: Install the Hotend Cooling Fain Air Duct
Install the hotend fan duct to the left side of the hotend fan.
Ensure the cables are not pinched under the screw holes, then tighten the two screws with an H1.5 hex wrench.
Step 4: Install Hotend and Silicone Sock
For detailed instructions, refer to the wiki page on replacing the hotend and silicone sock for hotend to install the silicone sock for hotend and hotend.

Step 5: Install the Toolhead Front Cover
Refer to Replace Toolhead Housing to replace the toolhead front cover.

Verifying Success
Connect the printer's power and turn on the printer. Start a print and ensure that it prints successfully.
After replacing the eddy sensor, refer to Adjust P2S Nozzle Eddy Sensor for adjustment. If you encounter any problems, review the steps and check all connections before trying again. If the problem persists, please contact the Bambu Lab customer service team for further assistance.
