Preguntas Frecuentes Sobre Kingroon KP5L

E-steps refer to the number of steps that the extruder motor needs to take in order to extrude 1mm of filament.

Calibrating the e-steps is important when you think your printer is under-extrusion or over-extrusion, which all can result in poor print quality.

Calibrating the e-steps is a relatively simple process and can greatly improve the quality and consistency of your 3D prints. Additionally, if you make any changes to components related to filament extrusion, such as the extruder stepper motor, motherboard, or firmware, you will need to recalibrate the e-steps.

To calibrate the e-steps, you can follow these steps:
1. Turn on your 3D printer and set the nozzle temperature to 200 degrees Celsius.
2. Prepare a millimeter ruler or caliper, side cutter, and filament.
3. Push the filament through the extruder until it comes out from the nozzle.
4. Grab a millimeter ruler or a caliper. Hold it right at the top of your extruder. Move it up to 100mm and mark that spot with a sharpie right at 100mm.
5. Then you need to measure again at 120mm. We now have one at 100mm and one at 120mm.
6. Tell your printer to extrude 100mm. When the extruding stops, you could see where are the 100mm sharpie mark is.
7. If the 100mm sharpie line is way out of the extruder, it means that your printer is under extrusion. If the 100mm sharpie is buried, then use the 120mm sharpie to measure how over-exturded our printer is.
8. The next task is to obtain the current e-steps from the printer. For this, I suggest using Pronterface if the printer doesn't offer the option to do it directly from the control panel.
9. So, you slid the Pronterface big window over. Then at the right bottom, you come down and type "m503" and hit enter. What we need to look for is the line that says "M92" followed by a bunch of numbers. In this case, we're specifically looking for the extruder steps, represented by the letter "E."
10. Input the measured length and the current e-steps of your machine into the e-step calculator: https://www.th3dstudio.com/estep-calculator/
9. The calculator will provide you with the updated e-steps value.
10. Adjust the e-steps on your 3D printer's firmware using the appropriate settings menu or commands.
