The laser module has several notable features including the air lens, fire warning lights, and a detachable laser shield.
The module uses technology that compresses the laser spot into a small square, and it has a built-in spring-loaded focus stick. The module connects to the Gantry with a cam lever.
Then let's proceed to connect the tubing for the air pump and demonstrates the air assist feature.
Different Materials Engraving Tests
Tests the engraver on different materials, starting with cutting a piece of birch plywood. They use the LightBurn material test tool, adjust the air assist, and set the parameters for the job. The cutting is straight and clean without charring. They also test engraving on birch plywood and achieve good results. The engraver's cutting capabilities on 12mm plywood and 19mm Spruce, both of which it cuts successfully in a single pass.
Next, let's push the engraver to its limits by engraving a high-resolution image at high speed. They discuss the balance between speed and detail in engraving.
The speaker demonstrates the effectiveness of the air assist feature by comparing engravings with and without air assist, showing that the air assist helps prevent surface burning and keeps the work area clear of debris.
Let's further tests the engraver on cutting black acrylic, etching on coated aluminum sheet, and cutting stainless steel. The engraver successfully cuts sheets of stainless steel up to 0.17mm thick, which is impressive for a 20-watt laser.
Test color engraving on stainless steel by adjusting power, speed, and interval settings.
